Homemade Teeth Whiteners
Coffee, tea, cigarettes and wine are just a few items we consume that can stain our teeth and leave them dingy and yellow. Having less than white chompers can make you feel self conscious and and make you feel dowdy even when you are perfectly groomed. However, you don’t have to live with yellow stains forever. It is a simple matter of choosing which of the available teeth whiteners is best for you.
Homemade teeth whiteners were the first whitening products around. Long before over the counter teeth whiteners were invented and long before dentists treated the poor as well as the well to do, people would make their own whiteners. These methods have stood the test of time.
Raw Vegetables
One of the earliest and best whitening methods was simply eating your way to cleaner whiter teeth. For people who needed just a little bit of brightening, eating raw vegetables can actually clean and remove plaque and leave them whiter. While this method will not work for seriously yellow stains, it will brighten the smiles of those who need just a light cleaning and polishing.
Lemon
Most people know that rinsing your hair with lemon juice will lighten and brighten your hair. Lemons can do the same thing for your pearly whites. One of the easiest and best teeth whiteners available today, rubbing a quarter of a lemon once or twice a day will remove tartar and stains and leave each tooth much whiter than before.
Strawberries and baking soda
While this combination would not make a good desert it works wonders for whitening your chompers. Simply take one strawberry crush it to a pulp, mix it with baking soda and use a soft tooth brush to spread it on your teeth. Wait 5 minutes and then rinse it off and brush with regular toothpaste.
Baking Soda and Peroxide
Probably the most well known and best homemade teeth whiteners is mixing baking soda with peroxide. You then brush with the paste for at least two minutes. This will considerably lighten any stains you may have. Make sure you rinse your mouth thoroughly afterward and re-brush with regular toothpaste to remove the awful taste this product will leave in your mouth.
